Andrea is from Minnetonka, Minnesota and moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She continued her education by obtaining her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa. During her time at A.T. Still University, she first became interested in women’s health while rotating through an outpatient facility specializing in women’s health. Andrea is passionate about the field of physical therapy and her ability to positively impact the lives of others.
Andrea began her career working as a physical therapist helping hospitalized patients recover their strength and independence at Scottsdale Healthcare. She has vast experience working with patients of all ages, ranging from children to elderly adults, though working with women has always been her passion. During her time helping hospitalized women, she recognized the high prevalence of pelvic floor dysfunction in women and the significant impact the pelvic floor has on the quality of women’s lives. Andrea realized the great need for specialized physical therapists to address the multitude of women’s health issues including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic prolapse, pelvic pain, and pelvic floor muscle weakness.
To advance her understanding and ability to help women with pelvic floor muscle issues, she obtained advanced training through the guidance of Dr. Kantartzis and Dr. Stratford. She studied with pelvic floor physical therapists in Mesa and Scottsdale as well as nurse therapists in Columbia, Missouri. Her training has helped her hone her skills in managing pelvic floor disorders.
As a Women’s Health Physical Therapist, specializing in pelvic floor therapy, Andrea provides patients with treatment options including biofeedback therapy, electrical stimulation, behavioral modification education and therapeutic exercise prescriptions for pelvic floor musculature. She is dedicated to this specialty and incorporates current research and individualized treatment plans into her patient care.
Andrea is an avid runner and sports fan. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and twin girls.
